Former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has joined Franch side, Olympique Lyon.
The German, who has been a free agent since leaving the Bavarias, will sign a two-year deal with the French side.
Speaking after putting pen-to-paper, the 32-year-old said;
“I want to thank everyone at OL for welcoming me to the club. I felt an extremely warm welcome and a lot of confidence in who I am as a person and as a player. I can't wait to start this new chapter in my career.
"I want to give my best for this club. I am looking forward to meeting my teammates. This is a quality squad with young players, to which I can bring my experience. I am also looking forward to playing in this incredible stadium. The transfer window was long from my perspective.
"I had received other offers, but itt was important for me to have a good feeling about the club where I signed and to have a project to join. I had good conversations with Peter Bosz and I'm really happy to be here. I've known this club since I was small.
"There are great players here. It’s an honor for me to be a part of this club. I want to bring my experience to this team, and a winning mentality, especially for the team's young players. Talking doesn't help much; you have to work hard. I have done everything to stay in shape. I have to find the rhythm necessary to reach my best."
