Ronaldo honoured by Guinness World Records for his latest achievement

Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name in football history books when he scored for Portugal against Iran in a World Cup qualifier match on Wednesday night.

The forward netted the two goals as they came from a goal down to beat the visitors, with his second coming in the 89th minute.

It was a record-breaking strike, which took him to 111 international goals, a new record.

The new Man United signing has now been recognized by the Guinness World Records.

“I’m very happy, not only because I beat the record but for the special moments that we had,” Ronaldo said.

“Two goals at the end of the game is so tough, but I have to appreciate what the team did. We believed until the end.”

Ronaldo had in the 15th minute lost a penalty, which was beautifully saved by the goalkeeper.

He however drew his side level before winning it with a minute of regular time.
