Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has seemingly pointed out Cristiano Ronaldo’s setbacks since the return to Old Trafford.
Following United’s 5-0 annihilation at the hands of Liverpool at home, Ronaldo did not avoid direct criticism from the public.
Wenger believes that the arrival of a player like Ronaldo urgently needs the team to find a balance.
The Frenchman was asked if resigning Ronaldo was simply an error or not.
"I wouldn’t say it was a mistake but certainly some emotional impact was in there because he has been a fantastic player,” Wenger said as quoted by the MEN.
"No, I believe Ronaldo can still score you the goals you need. Can he repeat every three games, very high-intensity games? That’s certainly less the case today but let’s not forget he was the hero three days ago.
"When you buy a player like that, the secret is the balance of the team. To play Ronaldo, he can win you games, but you need to create the balance around him,” the Arsenal icon concluded.
Coming up next for the Red Devils is a trip to London to face a dangerous Tottenham Hotspur.
