Liverpool vs Atlético Madrid: The stats, team news ahead of Anfield encounter

Liverpool will play hosts to Atletico Madrid at Anfield in the return leg of the Champions League group B encounter.

The Reds need to beat Atletico tonight to advance to the last 16 of the Champions League with two games to spare.

First leg

Liverpool registered a 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the group stage match held at the Wanda Metropolitano. Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita gave Liverpool an early lead before Antoine Griezmann scored a brace to level the scores for Atleti.

In the second half, Griezmann was sent off and Madrid could not contain Liverpool with Salah completing his brace to secure three points for the Reds.

Team News

The hosts will miss the services of Naby Keita who picked up a hamstring problem over the weekend in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Brighton. James Milner and Harvey Elliott are also on the sidelines meaning Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be handed a start alongside Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones.

Midfielders Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are set to return for the hosts.

For Madrid, Griezmann and Stefan Savic are suspended while Marcos Llorente is unlikely to be passed fit.

Thomas Lemar is out, while Geoffrey Kondogbia is a doubt due to a concussion.
