Leipzig vs Man City to be played behind closed doors because of COVID-19

Because of an increase in Covid-19 instances in Germany, Manchester City's Champions League group-stage match against RB Leipzig will be played behind closed doors.

On Tuesday, December 7th, the game will take place at the Red Bull Arena.

Due to the partial lockdown in the German state of Saxony, where Leipzig is headquartered, fans will not be allowed to attend.

Covid cases are rapidly increasing in Germany, with 57,302 infections on Friday setting a new high.

City will play Leipzig in the last game of the group stage after defeating the German side 6-3 at Etihad Stadium in September.

Pep Guardiola's team presently leads the group with nine points, one point ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, and Leipzig are in last place with one point.
