Patrice Evra has done what he does, express himself without mincing any words. This time he has addressed Edouard Mendy’s Ballon d’Or snub.
Evra believes that the Senegalese goalkeeper deserved a Ballon d’Or recognition after inspiring Chelsea to a UEFA Champions League title, while also leading Senegal to the final play-offs of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
"Also the goalkeeper... what about Edouard Mendy?" said Evra as per The Sun.
"You know, but of course, African Cup, we are the monkeys so no one respects this competition.
"We are the only competition where you have to leave your club, leave for three weeks and play that cup because in Africa we always have a little space.
"But things will change, things will change,” Evra concluded.
Meanwhile, Mendy is training to for the London derby against West Ham this weekend.
