Niklas Sule is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, the club has confirmed.
The defender is said to have informed the club he wants to leave once his contract runs out at the end of the season.
Confirming his imminent departure, club CEO Oliver Kahn said the club did all they could to convince the player to extend his stay.
“The negotiations were long. We made him an offer. Süle didn't accept it," he said. “We know that Niklas wants to leave the club at the end of the season”.
The 26-year-old arrived at Bayern from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2017 and has since made over 150 appearances for the German giants, winning numerous titles.
He has however been unlucky in recent seasons, having missed a good number of games due to injuries.
A host of Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Tottenham, and Newcastle have all been linked with the German international.
Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in the defender, who could fit into their recent recruitment policy which has been occasioned by ongoing financial difficulties.
