Manchester United players have made Mauricio Pochettino their preferred choice to become the club’s next manager.
Pochettino who is currently in the books of PSG wants to return to the Premier League and sees the United job as a perfect opportunity to end his relationship with the French giants who are currently leading their league.
The Telegraph reports that while United have cast their eyes on a number of managers to take over permanently in the cummer, the players want Pochettino as they feel he is the right manager to lead them in the new season.
There have been reports that United is keen on Ajax manager Erik ten Hag and it’s believed that the senior players are openly discussing his potential appointment in the dressing room as they look to replace Ralf Rangnick this summer.
Pochettino has been widely criticized for the handling of the team this year and could be sacked if PSG is beaten by Real Madrid in the Champions League round-of-16 as they feel that the talent at his disposal should see the club dominate Europe.
In addition, PSG fell in the Trophée des Champions and was eliminated from the Coupe de France round-of-16 last week.
Rangnick is set to begin a two-year consultancy role with United beginning this summer and it is said that he prefers ten Hag this summer and has yet to rule himself out from managing United for another season.
