Everton set to scoop United target
Premier League up-and-comers Everton are reportedly closing in on signing Burnley FC defender Michael Keane.
The 24-year-old had been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months but lost interest after the Europa League champions landed centre-back Victor Lindelof from Benfica, casting doubts as to whether the Englishman will get valuable playing time.
A Clarets insider has now disclosed that they are expecting a transfer to the Toffees to be done in a few days as they are a few things left to be sorted out. Boss Ronald Koeman is however confident that he will continue to add on to his already successful summer shopping spree, having already acquired goalie Jordan Pickford from Sunderland and former Ajax captain Davy Klaassen for £30m and £23.6m respectively.
Reputable sources claim that the deal will cost around £25m and that Keane is relishing the opportunity to play at Goodison Park since it will provide him with the opportunity to plead his case for a selection to the Three Lions ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
