FKF WPL: Olympic faces Queens' wrath

Thika Queens cemented their lead at at the summit the FKF Women Premier League match after they thrashed Mombasa Olympic 2-1 during the league match played at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday July 2nd 2017.

Thika queens threw everything into attack from the word go and shocked the hosts with a 2nd minute goal courtesy of a strike by Mercy Achieng for a 1-0 lead at breather. Quinta Atieno restored the parity for Mombasa Olympic four minutes after resumption. Mercy Achieng' restored the lead for Thika Queens when she completed a brace ten minutes later.


After playing seven matches, Thika Queens maintained lead at the summit of the eight team FKF Women Premier League Zone A with  a total of 19 points, seven points ahead of Mombasa Olympic.

Meanwhile the other  Zone A league match between sixth placed Spedag and bottom placed Soccer Sisters failed to kick off ta RG Ngala ground after the visitors refused to take the pitch claiming the ground was sub standard.

Initially the match was set for Mombasa Sports Club but since it was booked for another function the match was  switched to RG Ngala.
