Manchester United have confirmed that midfielder Adnan Januzaj has left the club to join La Liga up-and-comers Real Sociedad.

The Belgian was offered the opportunity to turn over a new leaf after falling out of favour with United bosses in recent years, which saw the the 22-year-old sent out on loans to the recently relegated Sunderland and Borussia Dortmund during the last two consecutive seasons.

Januzaj’s recent exemption from the Red Devil squad that travelled to LA to face the reigning La Liga and Champions League champions Real Madrid was the final nail in the coffin of his young career at Old Trafford, sparking rumours of an exit which were subsequently confirmed.

Sociedad parted with a meager £9.8 m for the former Anderlecht star, which is a bargain since they have in turn secured a young and promising talent who could help rebuild their club moving forward.
