Premier League clubs warned

Football Association (FA) chiefs have warned Premier League managers against taking out their frustrations on match officials.

The governing body recently raised concerns over the way club bosses were using assistant referees as “human punch bags” when controversial decisions didn’t go their way during matches.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was last season slapped with a four-match ban after the tactician engaged in a lengthy heated exchange with touchline official Anthony Taylor in a win over Burnley. Le Professeur uncharacteristically shoved the linesman, a development that garnered widespread criticism from the FA and the Frenchman’s peers.

The FA has also set up a committee to discuss whether  minimum distance should be set between technical areas to avoid confrontations between rival bosses.
