Huge loss for Kenya defender in US

Kenyan defender Lawrence Olum featured for Portland Timbers as they suffered a 4-1 loss to Toronto FC in a Major Soccer League match played at BMO field on Sunday 13 August.

The first half of the clash ended with a goalless draws while the final half saw five goals scored. The first goal of the clash came at the 58th minute. Justin Morrow scored the goal after a successfully counter attacker by Toronto.

Second goal

The second goal for Toronto came 14 minutes later. Victor Vazquez connected onto Giovinvo's cross from the right flank and put the ball in the net. Morrow got his brace four minutes later after pouncing on a loose ball while Marco Delgado scored Toronto's final goal, three minutes before the final whistle.

Portland Timbers got their consolation goal from Diego Valeri. Having received a pass from Dieggo the attacker dribbled past four defenders and shot in the bottom corner. The goal saw him hit the 50th career goal at Portland.

Portland Timbers will face New York Red-bulls in the next league tie.
