Shield: Will Eldoret Youth upset odds against Sharks and progress?

As Shield quarter finals beckon, Eldoret Youth will be looking to upset the odds when they play Kenya Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks on August 19, 2017.

The team plies trade in the FKF Division one Zone B and is the only side that carries the underdog tag as Bandari, SoNy Sugar, AFC Leopards and Wazito are all given favourable odds to progress into the semi finals.

Sharks beat Sofapaaka, fellow KPL rivals to reach quarters while Eldoret Youth had to see off Savannah 3-2 at Kipchoge Keino Stadium. Coach Peter Kihamba will be hoping to have his previous scorers on form to ward off Sharks attack. Kevin Cheti, Phillip Okoth and Joseph Oyugi goals were enough to see the Eldoret side book their first ever Shield date.

-We are ready for the clash. We have come from far and we wont be stopping now. No team should underrate us, these were coach Kihamba's earlier comments to Futaa in his anticipation for the clash.

The Shield winner will book a date in the CAF Confederations Cup while pocketing a Ksh2 million checque. The teams that will be runners up, second runners up and fourth placed will have to contend with Ksh 1 million, Ksh 750, 000 and half a million in that order.
