Playtime for Kenyan duo as Finnish campaign intensifies

Mariehamnn FC registered a slim 1-0 win over VPS in a Finnish League match played at Wiklof Holding Arena on Sunday night.

Kenyan midfielder Amos Ekhalie was handed a start by head coach Peter Lundberg. The midfielder went to play 58 minutes before being replaced by fellow Kenyan Anthony Clement Dafaa.

Pressure

Mariehamn started off by putting their opponent to pressure but failed to utilize the chances that were created in the opening half. After 45 minutes of play, the scoreboard remained 0-0.

The home side came from the changing room rejuvenated after the halftime break. Three minutes after restart the defending champions scored the lone goal of the match through Aleksei Kangaskolkka. The forward beat Meerits in VPS goal after being put through by Robbin Sellin.

10 men

VPS finished the match with one man less, defender Ville Koskimaa was sent off at the 87th minute after second yellow card.

Ekhalie’s team is now on 33 points after 24 rounds of the league. They are 19 points behind league leaders HJK.
