Crystal Palace have reportedly made a £23m bid for Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala.

Sources claim that the Eagles have refocused the sights on signing the Frenchman after being frustrated in their recent attempt to acquire Liverpool centre-back Mamadou Sakho, who the Reds unfairly priced at £30m.

Mangala will undoubtedly welcome the opportunity to leave the Etihad after falling out of favour with boss Pep Guardiola, a development which saw the 26-year-old loaned out to La Liga up-and-comers Valencia last season.

League rivals West Brom and Serie A linchpins Inter Milan have also showed interest in acquiring the defensive specialist. The latter are rumoured to be still hopeful that they can land the former FC Porto ace before the Thursday transfer deadline.
