United coach admits it will be tough against Wazito

Vihiga United assistant coach Francis Xavier has admitted his side's league clash against Wazito FC scheduled for Sunday 10 September at the Mumias Sports Complex will be a tough clash as both teams are pushing for promotion to the Kenyan Premier League.

The Edward Manoah coached team has failed to register a win in its last two league matches losing 0-1 to Nairobi Stima before settling for a one all draw with Modern Coast Rangers.  They face Wazito next at home, a side they beat 2-0 in the first leg played at Camp Toyoyo Grounds and Xavier says the match will be a tough one as both teams are competing for ticket to the Kenyan Premier League.

-It is a tough match because Wazito is a very good side and just like us are pushing for promotion to the Kenyan Premier League. We know they will come here in search of a win and we have to be at our best, we have not won in our last two away matches and this being a home fixture we have to give our best because we want to return to winning ways but this will be a very tough match, he said.

First leg

Xavier has downplayed the first leg 2-0 win over his former employer, the former Leopards midfielder says Wazito will be out to make it difficult for them and that they have to be at their best to  get a good result.

-Yes we beat them in the first leg but that doesn't count now, this is totally a different game that will be approached differently. I know they will come with strategy to counter ours and so we have to prepare well and give our best, he added.

Vihiga sits at the top of the National Super League with 51 points while Wazito is fifth with 41 points; the Frank Ouna coached side however has two games in hand.
