If Kepha Aswani had been clinical enough with the chances that came his way, he could be joint top scorer as KPL Week 25 clash between Posta Ranger and Nakumatt came to an end.

The attacker could only managed a brace in space of four minutes to hand the Moneybags a 2-0 win over Rangers in the clash at Ruaraka grounds.

Both team approached the match on back of winless outcomes and eager to bounce back in what proved a game of two halves.

The first chance went the hosts way at the quarter hour mark but David Naftali's header from a Peter Nzuki free kick veered over the bar.

Posta replied instantly with Gershon  Likonoh sneaked through the defense only to  make a tame contact from a right wing delivery

Rangers scare

The right wing proved fruitful in the offensive  forays and Jerry Santos and Dennis Mukiaisi went close with efforts that t Ezekiel Owade saved.

Nakumatt come close to the opener just before the break when John Njoroge ghosted into Rangers danger zone only to see his shot come off the post with Matasi well beaten.

Nakumatt started the final half in a high but took time to get in the action to create any meaningful chance.

Aswani brace

Substitute Kepha Aswani should have srnt them ahead but failed to steer home a header from close range.

The miss had hardly been forgotten when the striker headed wide from another clear chance.

The was no miss any more as the breakthrough finally came at the 71st minute. Kepha obliged with a low finish past Matasi after some good work by Josshua Oyoo

Three minutes later, the Moneybags went 2-0 up when Aswani volleyed past a stranded Matasi.

The tie was technically over after the second goal as Ranger battled to remedy a torrid second half display.
