Tusker hopes of title defense receive blow after SoNy loss

Tusker Fc has received a major blow in the defence of their league title after going down 2-0 to SoNy Sugar at Awendo Green Stadium on September 9, 2017.

George Abege stole the show on his return from a lengthy lay off to bag a brace in the win.

George Abege got the first goal for SoNy Sugar in the seventh minute after Benjamin Mosha delivered a good pass from the right flank. Abege then beat Duncan Ochieng in a one on one scenario before putting the ball into an empty net.

Salim Babu's SoNy ran the show thereafter until Abege added his second from a rebound as Ochieng failed to deal with a powerful cross from Amos Asembeka.

Tusker resumed the second half by on an attacking gear as SoNy shift to a defensive approach to protect their healthy lead. George Nsimbe then responded by bringing on Stephen Owusu in place of Boniface Muchiri in the 53rd minute. 

Title defense dented

Hard fighting Tusker went down finally and the result leave them way down to defend their title as this result mark their eighth loss in the season. They remain with thirty points and two home matches against  Zoo Fc and on fire Mathare United follow.

 The win sealed SoNy's Sixth win lifting them to 25 point mark ahead of a trip to face AFC Leopards in the next match.
