Injury update: United ace out for at least a month
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly been sidelined by a hamstring injury for at least four weeks.
The £89.3m-man left United’s Champions League group stage match against Basel on Tuesday early, and was subsequently replaced by Marouane Fellaini in 3-0 victory. The Frenchman was thereafter seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches and a scan later confirmed the disheartening news.
Boss Jose Mourinho is however not concerned with how the English side will cope with the midfield maestro’s absence, as the Special One’s ‘next man up’ policy will see the likes of Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick pick up the slack in the oncoming fixtures.
Pogba may ultimately be out for up to six weeks due to the nature of the injury, meaning that the former Juventus star will miss United’s matches against Everton, Southampton, Crystal Palace and maybe even their trip to Anfield on October 14.
