Juve striker in trouble

Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain is reportedly facing an investigation from UEFA for a ‘one finger salute’ he gave Barcelona fans in their 3-0 defeat to the Spanish giants.

The Argentine, who was visibly frustrated by his side’s poor display in the match, showed the middle finger to Barca supporters after boss Massimiliano Allegri substituted the marksman as the fixture drew to a close.

Higuain is said to have been responding in kind to jeers from Catalan fans who were taunting the former Napoli striker for continuing his poor form against them, which has seen the 29-year-old fail to score against Barca in his last 12 matchups against the La Liga juggernauts, dating back to his tenure at bitter rivals Real Madrid.

The goalgetter now faces up to a three or four match fan if found guilty by the governing body, which could potentially rule out the £75m-man out for the remainder of Juve’s Champions League group stage matches against Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos.
