Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton is expected to be sidelined for a long period after undergoing surgery on a dislocated shoulder..

Heaton's manager Sean Dyche is expected to confirm the injury, sustained during Burnley's 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday, at his pre-match press conference on Thursday. According to reports Clarets are looking for a replacement to cover the injured Heaton and former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, who is a free agent after being released by Preston North End in May, is being considered.

Burnley travel to Anfield on Saturday to play Liverpool and they will be hoping after two wins in their opening four games that their early season form continues despite the absence of Heaton.
