Timbe's Renhe joins top tier, sets stage for Beijing Derby
Ayub Timbe's Beijing Renhe has been promoted to Chinese top tier, the Chinese Super League after Sunday 8 October 2-0 win over Xinjiang Tianshan.
Beijing dethroned Dalian Yifang from the top and with two matches to go the team has already guaranteed itself a position in the top tier next season. After 28 matches, the team sits at the helm of the Chinese First League One with 59 points one more than Dalian who occupy the second position.
With the promotion of Beijing Renhe, for the first time Chinese top league will witness a Beijing Derby between Renhe and Beijing Guoan.
Timbe joined Renhe in February 2017 from Belgian side Lierse SK penning a three-year deal. He has played a key role in Renhe's promotion scoring a number of key goals and setting up others.
