Tusker fails to leapfrog Sharks at Ruaraka

Tusker FC's quest to leapfrog newbies Kariobangi Sharks proved a tall order as the two fired blanks in a Kenyan Premier league tie played this Wednesday 11 October in Ruaraka.

Brewers thus remain a point below their rivals despite both gaining a rank up in the log with Sharks moving up to fourth.

Brewers early threats

Brewers who trailed Sharks by a  point had the incentive to take the game to their visitors which they fittingly did with an attacking display.

Michael Khamati and Noah Wafula both tested  Joff Oyemba's alertness between the sticks.

The visitors however proved vigilant at back till the half hour mark when they had the crossbar sparing them from going a goal down.

 close shave.

Humphrey Mieno picked a pass before unleashing a speculative shot that beat Oyemba but not the cross bar.

The teams had to contend with a barren score line from the first forty five minutes.

Sharks approached the final half on two changes as Ebrima Sanneh and Matthew Tayo replaced Elli Asieche and Patilla  Omotto.

Late chances

Its Sanneh who came close to breaking the deadlock in the final ten minutes only to denied by last gasp block from Eugene Asike.

The same script was replicated at far end  as Oyemba acrobatically thwarted Shivachi's glancing header from getting in minutes later.

The chances proved the end of the clash as the team settle for a point from the stalemate.
