Girona's Michael Olunga  missed  perhaps the team's most important win as the La Liga new comers put Real Madrid to the sword in a league clash played on Sunday 29 October  at Montilivi.

Second half strikes from Cristian Stuani and Portuges Manzares saw the newbies cancel out Isco's 12 minute opener to hand Madrid their first away loss of the season.

Maffeo V s big teams

Olunga who had his start in a midweek Cup tie defeat was no part of the match-day squad. Pablo Maffeo, a 20 year-old defensive midfielder from Man City came up big in yet another big fixture with his detailed marking display against Cristiano Ronaldo as he did in Girona's clash against Lionel Messi of Barcelona.

The youngster had a shot cross against the bar and was credited with assist to Portu's match winner. The win over World champions did mean a lot to the Catalan club, whose fans went to an unbridled frenzy at the final whistle.

Pablo Machin side is now ranked on the log.
