Injury update: Liverpool handed boost

08 Nov 2017, 20:00

Liverpool has been handed a significant boost with Adam Lallana ready to step up his rehabilitation from injury by playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Lallana has been unable to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season after he suffered a serious thigh injury during the club’s pre-season schedule.

But he is now closing in on a long-awaited return and will feature in a friendly at Liverpool’s Melwood training ground next week as he looks to make himself available following the conclusion of the international break.

The game will likely involve a number of youth players and members of the senior squad that were not called up for international duty.
