Nzoia boss admits to lack of firepower ahead of Sharks clash

Nzoia Sugar head coach Bernard Mwalala has admitted that injuries to four of his dependable strikers has rendered his forward line blunt and hopes that his charges will step up against Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday 11 November.

Elvis Rupia, Masita Masuta, Victor Omondi and Collins Wakhungu are all sidelined with injuries leaving Mwalala with Patrick Kwitonda as the only fit striker at his disposal. In an interview, the youthful tactician said lack of firepower was the reason his side lost to Mathare United on Sunday 5 November but is hoping that his troops will step up against Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday 11 November in the absence of the injured quartet.

-We are preparing well, I do not have any fresh injury concerns and I can say we are ready. My only problem is my injured strikers; against AFC Leopards it didn't affect us but in our match against Mathare we badly missed them and it was evident looking at the chances we missed.

Good away record

The two sides face off at Camp Toyoyo Grounds owing to unavailability of Moi Kasarani Stadium and Mwalala is hoping that his team will maintain its fine away form against Sharks. The last time the two teams faced off at Camp Toyoyo Nzoia mauled Sharks 3-1.

-Sharks is a good team, we've played them many times in the National Super League and I know what to expect from them. We have a good away record against them and I hope we can maintain that on Saturday, he said.

Sharks is 6th in the Kenyan Premier League log with 46 points while Nzoia is eighth with 43.
