NSL: Nairobi Stima setback narrows race to four

The race for the Kenya Premier League slots has been reduced to four teams after Nairobi Stima dropped off after Round 36 games played on Sunday 12 November.

A 3-1 defeat against rivals KCB put an end to Stima's hopes for Kenya Premier League football next season with the team now trailing nine points off the playoff spot.

The Week 36 ties focus was fixed on the must-win Camp Toyoyo encounter where KCB came up trumps with a surreal three goals in space of seven minutes midway through the first half.

A much-reduced margin of error was not to trouble the other pack with Wazito edging AllStars 1-0 as Ushuru braved mild downpour to silence host Palos 2-0 in Kisumu.

The winning outcome saw the pair retain their lead at the top as KCB leapfrogged Vihiga  United, who sat out of action, to third.

The tight race could be back to the one-point gap heading to the penultimate round if Vihiga emerges victorious from their game in hand.
