Chapa Dimba: Carzola shines, West Pokot reigns supreme in Rift finals

West Pokot County reigned supreme in the Rift Chapa Dimba finals staged at Narok Stadium on November 12, as Kapenguria Heroes and Tartar Girls edged their opponents to reach the national finale.

The heroes put in a sublime performance to down Nakuru Allstars 2-0 courtesy of a David ' Cazorla' Majak double all coming from the spot kick Tartar thrashed Iten Ladies 7-1 in a match they entirely dominated.

Andrew Diego, Tartar head coach hinted that the intense preparations were the main factor that propelled them this far. Diego, who is happy to represent Rift Valley in Nairobi next year is, however, cautious of stiff competition ahead.

Good Preparations

- We had prepared well for these finals and I had hope in my Girls to perform And what they did today was wonderful. We are now focusing on the national finals to be held in Nairobi. On where we see great competition coming from I think Mombasa and Nairobi regions will pose a great challenge, Andrew Diego said after the match.

Majak who has won the Golden Boot and the MVP Awards is relishing the chance to play in Nairobi besides and help his team. 

- Our aim is to go to London so we will try our best in the national finals next year. The preparation we had before this finals was intense and I hope we will replicate the same ahead, Majak said after receiving the personal Award.

Cash Rewards

The Kapenguria Heroes bagged Ksh 200, 000 while Allstars had to contend with Ksh 100, 000. The Girls received the same cash respectively. Nakuru AllStars goalkeeper  George Ochieng was named the best goalkeeper and scooped the Golden Boot Award.
