United set to reject bid for midfielder

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to turn down an £8m offer from Besiktas for midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

This development contradicts earlier reports which initially claimed that the Super Lig powerhouse had already agreed on a deal with United to acquire the Belgian, whose current contract with the English giants is set to expire at the end of the season.

It is believed that the Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is the reason for the dramatic change since he considers the midfield maestro to be an integral part of his current and future plans for the club, which subsequently puts the 29-year-old off limits.

Mourinho must however still find players to offload before he can acquire fresh talent, with left-back Luke Shaw now topping the list of players most likely to be offloaded.
