Mariga, club sublime form earn another win in row

13 Nov 2017, 15:56

McDonald Mariga's Real Oviedo continued with their impressive performance after beating Gimnastic Tarragona 2-1 on November 12, 2017.

This is the first two wins in a draw for Oviedo and that helps them to climb the table with twenty points so far. Kenya's Mariga was involved in the action all through as Carlos Hernandez and Aaron Niguez scored the goals in the four minutes of added time and 72nd respectively. Hernandez was red carded in the 89th minute as the score stood at 1-1.

The first minutes were of clear domination by Tarragona. Real Oviedo was not out of the match, but seemed to respond to a preconceived plan to find spaces behind the local defense.

Oviedo will visit Real Valladolid next on November 18 and that promises to be a tough match as both sides all have 20 points but the later enjoy a slight goal difference  advantage.
