Injury update: United postpone Pogba’s return date

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will reportedly miss their upcoming match against Newcastle, which is scheduled for this Saturday.

Reputable news outlet The Telegraph has claimed that boss Jose Mourinho, in consultation with the club’s medics, decided to give the Frenchman a little more time off in order to ensure that he fully recovers from his injury.

Pogba has been sidelined since suffering a tear in his left hamstring in a Champions League group stage clash against Basel on September 12 - a development which has left the English giants terribly undermanned in the midfield and in desperate need of another playmaker.

The 24-year-old’s absence has seen United struggle to keep up with bitter rivals Manchester City, who have since established their place atop the league standing and secured an eight-point lead on the Red Devils.
