Kenya's defender Brian Mandela is on the safe side as his South Africa based outfit Maritzburg United embarks on acquiring fresh talent.

Coach Fadlu Davids is on the lookout for attacking talent and is targeting a top-eight finish with his youthful and versatile squad.

- I don’t think anyone is able to see what we are doing, like I said, tactical flexibility. Sometimes a three defence line, sometimes a four defence line. Sometimes you see our line-up and you don’t know who is playing where because each player can play in different positions.

It is working

- Sometimes you overload on the side, sometimes our fullbacks are coming inside. So these are things we have been working on, Fadlu said.

- Defensively, we’re one of the best in the league and we have to continue in that regard, he added.

The Team of Choice are ninth on the table at the midway point of the season with 18 points from 14 games and will resume their campaign against relegation-threatened Ajax Cape Town in the Mother City on January 5, 2018.
