Tusker swoop for Gor Mahia attacker Timothy Otieno certainly ranks among  the surprise end-season transfers.
The striker's performance is set to come under scrutiny as he angles for the new challenge awaiting him with the Brewers.

Second fiddle at Gor

It's simple logic that Timothy Otieno never stood much chance at Gor, in spite of his best effort. The attacking pair of Jacques Tuyisenge and Meddie Kagere only that he played second fiddle in the pecking order.

But what are chances heading to the Brewers in his third year in top flight football?
Granted, the ex-Talanta ace might not rank among the most clinical of finishers in the top league but he's nonetheless a prospect to look out for, more so in the next season
New challenge
A player is always good as he's esteemed an having lived up to this billing while with Rangers, Otieno could turn out to be the man to light up the Ruaraka outfit.
His stint with Gor not only exposed him to the dynamics of the league but braced him on how to deal with pressure associated with the top tier stage.
Unlike other green horns, Otieno should be fast in settling and going.

Past stint

Additionally, Otieno comes in with a decent scoring record and mentality that a coach will look out for in player.
Otieno has showed he can be relied on big games if his exploits in the past season of Mashemeji derbies is anything to talk of.

His stint at Posta reflects a player who can be relied on goal getting duties. The striker stepped up to scoring mantle with relative ease in his first loan stint. The fine run saw Gor recall him only to flog with yet another bit-role part in much of his appearances being in the team's dug-out.

Ready for Responsibility

At Gor, Otieno made known he isn't a player to shy away from responsibilities. More than once, the striker's insistence to take penalties brought to light his readiness to take on task with little or not thought at all to what failure will bring.
The KPL has proved to be a league where things happens so fast and success quickly passing to history.
For Otieno, with proper guidance and barring any calamity, the attacker should be a hit at Ruaraka
