Harambee Stars defender leaves American club

The New York Cosmos has announced parting ways with five players; Kenyan international David "Cheche" Ochieng among them.

Players ran out their current contracts with the North America Soccer League (NASL) outfit.


-The five players' contracts expired following the conclusion of the 2017 NASL Season: defenders Dejan Jakovic and David Ochieng, and midfielders Eugene Starikov, Juan Arango and Emmanuel Ledesma. 

-We would like to thank all of the players for being part of the Cosmos family and wish them the best of luck with their next team, said Erik Stover, Chief Operating Officer.

Cheche's stint in America lasted for two years having joined Cosmos from Saudi's Al Tawoon. He was part of the team's 2016 NASL championship.
