Brian Mandela's Maritzburg United staged a stunning second-half comeback to beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 in Friday's ABSA premiership tie played in Cape Town stadium.

Goals from Deolin Mekoa and Siyanda Xulu had the visitors turn the tie on its head with the Kenyan defender coming on in final ten minutes to help United see off the clash.

Tashreeq Morris' first half opener had given Ajax the lead.

The win secured by Xulu's 69th winner came as a deserved one for the side who had a couple of penalty decision ruled against them.

United's have now moved up to sixth on the pile as their host remain second from bottom.
