Kenya's international midfielder McDonald Mariga played as late substitute in Real Oviedo's 1-1 draw against Huesca at El Alcoraz Stadium on January 7.

The two teams are in contention for the automatic promotion to the La Liga next season as Huesca lead the pack with Mariga's Oviedo sitting third. Oviedo were looking to add their sixth consecutive victory against the  Segunda Division leaders but they were forced by the hard  circumstances of the match to go home with a point.

Oviedo scored restored parity in the tense affair after going down in the 31st minute after Aaron Niguez well taken cross went into the net. Alex Gallars had put the home side on the steering wheel before.

Mariga came in as the match consumed the additional minutes and his cameo did not add much as he and team mates settled for the draw and the point.
