Gor Mahia defender joins Nakumatt

Gor Mahia defender Mohamed Karim Macqbul has joined Kenyan Premier League side, Nakumatt FC on a season-long loan deal, K'Ogalo Chief Executive Officer Lordvick Aduda has revealed.

The left-back who joined Gor at the start of 2017 season from Jericho All-Stars found game time difficult to come by at Gor Mahia owing to the fine form of the evergreen Godfrey Walusimbi. Wesley Onguso's signing pushed Macqbul further down the pecking order and the club has now loaned him to Nakumatt for the entire 2018 KPL campaign.

According to Gor Mahia CEO, Aduda, the player was allowed to leave so that he can get the elusive play time. Aduda believes the defender still has a future at the club but will have continued with his growth at Nakumatt.

Loan deal

-We have loaned Macqbul to Nakumatt for the season. He didn't get much play time last year and we decided to allow him to leave on loan in search of more play time. He's still our player and we believe he has the quality to play for Gor Mahia in future but for him to continue with his growth, he needs to play week in week out and we are confident that he will get the play time at Nakumatt, he told Futaa.com.

Nakumatt is recruiting after losing most of their players at the end of 2017 campaign.
