Chelsea boss set to quit

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly set to leave the club this summer.

Italian news outlet Calciomercato has claimed that the Godfather will be allowed to end his tenure at the Stamford Bridge six months from now in favour of moving back to Italy, where the tactician has been linked with the top job at both AC Milan and the national team.

Conte’s relationship with Chelsea chiefs has deteriorated in recent months after the tactician lamented over their poor transfer activity last season, which the 48-year-old believes is the main reason behind their failure to replicate the dominant form they displayed in their last campaign.

Speculations have further suggested that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has already lined up Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri as Conte’s successor - a development that hints that Conte’s exit is a matter of ‘when’ and not ‘if’.
