AFC Leopards defender quits club

AFC Leopards defender Joshua Mawira has left the club following the expiry of his 18-month  contract with Ingwe, Leopards chairman Dan Mule has told Futaa.com.

Ingwe were willing to renew the player's contract for a further six months until June 2018 when he was expected to leave the country to further his studies in Sweden but the former Nairobi City Stars man has opted to move out this January.

Leopards chairman Dan Mule has confirmed Mawira's departure and wished the central defender luck in his future endeavours. Mule has also revealed that the club is looking for his replacement.

Mawira out

-Mawira is going to school in Sweden and he requested that we let him leave this January. He served us well during his time here and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours. We will try to get a replacement before the window closes because his exit leaves a gap in our defence, Mule told Futaa.com.

Mawira moved to Leopards in June 2016 from Nairobi City Stars and won the Gotv Shield in 2017 with the side.
