Vihiga United signs Ushuru striker
Former Ushuru FC striker Andrew Murunga has joined Kenyan Premier League (KPL) newbies, Vihiga United, Futaa.com has learnt.
The widely travelled forward played Kakamega Homeboyz and Ushuru FC in 2017. He started the year at Homeboyz before he decamped to the taxmen in June 2017 on loan from the Mike Mururi coached side.
He will now feature for Edward Manoah's Vihiga in 2018 after agreeing to join the side from Homeboyz. His signing comes following the departure of Rashid Kyambadde and Kephas Baraza.
"Murunga has been training with Vihiga United and has signed for them. He's an experienced forward and coach Manoah believes he will be an asset to the team in 2017, he is the player they have been trailing since 2017," a source from Vihiga told Futaa.com.
Murunga has previously played for Gor Mahia, Karuturi Sports, FC Talanta, Bandari, KCB and Tusker FC. He's capped with the national team, Harambee Stars six times and has scored once for the national team.
