10 Mar 2018, 08:28

Kariobangi Sharks host SofaPaka on Saturday in the Kenya Premier League at Kenyatta stadium.

Both teams will come into the game  with the urge of continuing with their winning streak. Kariobangi Sharks were merciless when they thrashed Wazito 4-1, what a way of welcoming the newbies to the league. On the other hand Sofapaka defeated Posta Ranger 2-1.

Kariobangi Sharks team news

It will a tough game for the Sharks since Batoto Ba Mungu have lethal front line Kepha Aswani and Stephen Waruru what a combination that can tear any defence if they are not in the lookout.

Kapaito will certainly pose a big threat to the visitors defence with his wizzy runs. His chemistry with Sanneh and Omwenga there understanding is becoming better day by day.

The tactician might try to shuffle his card and try to attack and use the  set pieces in order to grab the three point.

Meanwhile,  Sam Ssimbwa side has been on a resurgent form after beating AFC Leopards and Posta Rangers. Sofapaka who are in third position will be eager to get the sharp edge experienced last season that saw them finish second behind eventual winners Gor Mahia.

Waruru will be favoured as the one to slay the Sharks, the fans will be crossing fingers to see how the lethal former Ulinzi forward will shake the net on Saturday or provide an assist as he has been doing throughout last season.

Head to head

Kariobangi Sharks 0-0 Sofapaka
Sofapaka        1-3 Kariobangi Sharks
Sofapaka        0-0 Kariobangi Sharks

The following are the teams forms in their last five immediate fixture:

Sofapaka                            L W L W W
Kariobangi Sharks            W D D L W

Probable starting  lineups

Kariobangi Sharks starting XI: John Oyemba, Michael Bodo, Geoffrey Shiveka (c), Pascal Ogweno, Fidel Origa, Sven Yidah, Patilla Omoto, Duke Abuya, Bolton Omwenga, Erick Kapaito, Ebrimma Sanneh.

Sofapaka StartingXI: Mathias Kigonya, Willis Ouma, Yusuf Mohammed, Rogers Aloro, Moussa Omar, Kilume Mohammed, Kevin Kimani, Elli Asieche, Stephen Waruru Michael Odour and Kepha Aswani

This is a very difficult game  because both sides boost of seasoned squads with necessary mental fortitude to win tough matches. Forward Aswani and Kapaito are capable of finding the back of the net any time. I will however expect both teams to score in this ultra- competitive fixture.
