The Kericho showdown, limping bulls set to lock horns
The only win Zoo has recorded at home is against Thika United but that has not lifted it from the dusty relegation dogfight at the bottom.
Zoo is the only KPL club to have chocked over ten goals including eight against Ulinzi Stars and Gor Mahia. It has scored seven with 2017 Michael Madoya taking credit for three, striker Nicholas Kipkirui scoring two while captain Ligare Johnson and Kepha Ondati on the scoresheet once. That shows how ineffective the attacking department has been so far.
In all the five fixtures, Vincent Misikhu is yet to keep a clean sheet and the impending Vihiga trip will be another test for the keeper and the team to prove its readiness as they ply trade in the top tier for the second season running.
Vihiga is leading their match week six opponents by a slim goal difference and the encounter would be very important for both sides. Since kicking the first KPL ball, the Edward Manoah side is yet to conquer a game and pick all points on offer. But it has conceded half the goals Zoo has prior to the match at Kericho Green stadium. A win for them would be a huge relief as they will get clear of Thika United and Nzoia Sugar who all have three points. But that will depend on Thika V Tusker and Nzoia V Gor Mahia match results.
Teams that have defeated Zoo all perched above top ten in the current table log, two of the past five of Vihiga opponents wallow in 11th and 12th positions respectively and that is Posta Rangers and Nakumatt. This shows that the Kericho based side has faced tougher encounters than Vihiga.
