AP fires first winning shot, Police unbeaten

Administration Police finally secured its first 2018 NSL season victory on Monday 12th March after beating GFE 105 2-1 in their midweek encounter at the at Camp Toyoyo.

Humphrey Alemba netted the opener for AP in the first half before opponents GFE equalized before the end of the first half. Veteran striker Alfred Chole then sealed the three points for AP and first win of the season.

The loss was GFE’s third from five matches this season but the two sides are now tied in points. The match was the second of the day after Kibera Black Stars suffered the first season loss earlier on in the hands of Bankers KCB.

Police unbeaten

Their colleagues in service Kenya Police enjoyed a convincing 3-0 win over Kangemi All-Stars at the Karuturi Grounds in Naivasha. A brace from Kenya Under 20 Rising Stars striker Abraham Dawo and the third goal by Jesse Mata helped the side extend its five-match unbeaten run..  

In other matches played over the weekend, Bill Oporia struck in the third minute as Ushuru overcame a determined Green Commandos to pile their woes on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Camp Toyoyo. The recently promoted Commandos remains without a win so far in the NSL.

FC Talanta settled for a barren draw against newbies Kisumu All Stars at the same venue earlier. Relegated Western Stima dropped points for the second time in a row, this time to visiting St Joseph Youth in Kisumu after a 2-2 draw. Junior Mukisa and Johana Mwita netted for Western Stima, while Martin Oduor and Adam Fadhili were on target for the visitors.

At the Afraha Stadium, struggling Nakuru All-Stars were thumped 5-0 by Bidco United while in Awendo, hosts Isibania were 1-0 winners over Nairobi City Stars.
