Gor Mahia players to undergo doping test

16 May, 08:50

CAF will conduct doping test for Gor Mahia and USM Alger players just after their group stage encounter against USM Alger.

This is a requirement for all players to undergo the procedure and the same will be conducted by CAF official Dr. Mustafa Mofty. The doctor will then submit the report on the select players.

“We conduct such tests to keep the game clean and promote its good name. There should be openness and fairness and this is one way of promoting such,” Mofty was quoted by Gor Mahia website at Kasarani.

"The process is simple – two players and officials from both sides will head to the doping room where a random draw of shirt numbers will be done with just 15 minutes to the final whistle. The picked players will then head straight to the doping room immediately after the match for the urine test to be conducted and results are known at a later date." Gor statement added.

Gor will hope to get a win at home but the absence of their main hitman Meddie Kagere hamper their dreams. Ephraim Guikan would probably feel the void.
