Kerr rallies his charges to go for history
Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has called on his players to go for the kill when the team faces USM Alger in the CAF Confederations Cup Group D clash at Kasarani on Wednesday 16th May.
Gor Mahia played to a 1 – 1 draw with Rayon Sport in the opening game of the group and Kerr says it will be a blow if they fail to pick three points from this home game.
The team warmed up for the clash with a draw against Hull City over the weekend and going to this game, a lot of hopes is being placed on the Kenyan Premier League champions.
With Kenyan teams historically coming short against North Africans, Kerr has called on his players to give their all and rewrite history.
“We have worked so hard to get here and it is important that we get a win here. We drew the first game and here we have to win to keep our chances alive; it will be really great to pick a win here and though we know it will not be a walk in the park, we are determined to get there.
“There is too much talk about Kenyan teams not doing well against North African teams but you see we can rewrite history and this is what I have told my boys. We can do well if we take our chances and I believe the players know it very well,” he said.
