Kerr: We have to believe that we can top Group D
Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has urged his players to believe that they can finish top of their group, in the CAF Confederation Cup and seal a quarterfinal berth.
In the group stages of the continental showpiece for the first time in their history, Gor have had a promising start to their campaign in Group D as they are unbeaten after two rounds of play.
Having drawn 1-1 away to Rayon Sports in Rwanda on match day one, K'Ogalo followed that up with a 0-0 draw against Algerian side USM Alger in Nairobi on Wednesday 16 May and are now placed second in the Group with two points behind leaders USM who have four points.
Top The Group
With the top two teams advancing to the quarterfinal stage after the conclusion of the group stage, Kerr has called upon his players not to think about finishing second but rather have belief that they can top the group outright.
"We have to believe that we can win this. Not finish second but win it," he said after the USM game.
"We have four remaining games, two at home and two away. It is achievable if we believe and work at it."
The group is still up for grabs after Yanga and Rayon Sports, the other two teams in the group played out a barren draw as well on Wednesday in Dar es Salam.
