Kenyan Premier League side Thika United and Meru based Kirimara Sports, a talent nurturing institution have partnered to scout for talent in Meru and help with the nurturing.

The two will jointly conduct a week long mid-season selection exercise to scout untapped football talent in the vast Meru region, as revealed on the club’s social media platforms.

Top ranked

The date for the trials has not been mentioned just yet but Mutuma Nkanata, the Kirimara Sports chairman lauded the partnership as he looks to have a number of players get to feature for the region’s topmost ranked team.

“We are proud to partner with Thika United FC in this venture to scout and nurture football talent. Thika United are the highest ranked club in the Mt Kenya region and have the history, experience and tradition in promoting talent.

“We want to expand their reach and bring that success and experience to Meru and hopefully get a few youth who will play in the Kenyan Premier League and even the National team in the near future,” he said.

The succesfully scouted players will be unveiled on July 1st, when Thika United hosts Ulinzi Stars at Kinoru Stadium, in Meru.
