KPL side confirms departure of three players
Mathare United has confirmed that it has parted ways with three players.
Gilbert Osonga who joined from Posta Rangers leaves the Slum Boys after failing to break into the club's defense department. He joined in January and signed a contract that would have seen him remain at Mathare for four years. That now seems impossible after the club confirmed his release.
Derrick Onyango had been with the Gor Mahia Youth team and also played for Zetech University and YoungRangers. He also played for Mbotela Kamaliza.
"The club has reached an agreement with the trio of Derrick Onyango, Gilbert Osonga and Elijah Mwanzia to part ways on mutual consent. We wish them well in their future football careers." Mathare said in a statement.
Elijah Mwanzia who joined from Coast Stima completes the list of the departing stars.
Wycliffe Kasaya left the club after finding playtime had to come by and joined rivals Sofapaka. His departure was also influenced by the return of Robert Mboya from Kariobangi Sharks in addition to injury setbacks. Emmanuel Otieno was confirmed as the first signing of the club in the ongoing transfer window.
