Qualification to the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is in sight for Uganda Cranes after their back to back victories over Lesotho in the Group L qualifiers and the team’s striker Emmanuel Okwi has called on his mates to focus on finishing top in the group.

Uganda have dropped points in just one game in the qualifiers, against Tanzania in the barren draw at home, and as the group is, they need just one point from the remaining two matches to qualify for the tournament for the second straight time.

Stay focused

The Tanzania based forward says while it was good picking an away win in Lesotho on Tuesday, which handed the team 10 points, it is equally crucial that they stay focused for the remaining two matches and target finishing top.

“It is good that the players had a target and achieved it. There are two more matches and we should not relax, we need two more wins to finish top,” he said on the FUFA website.

Cranes will host Cape Verde next in the qualifiers before wrapping it up with a game away to Tanzania.
